FAQ

What is Prasora?

Prasora is a data and process management software for companies that depend on the timely completion of activities in order to sustain and excel in their business. It is completely dynamic in nature and hence it can be applied for a variety of applications.

Is it for my industry?

Prasora is planned to work with any industry that relies on timely completion of activities. If you have a list of activities to be done by a number of people, with a lot of dependability and a variety of duration, Prasora can help.

How does it work?

Prasora creates front end for capturing your data as and when it becomes available. This front end is access controlled so you have complete control on who can do the data entry or view it.

As soon as any activity becomes due, it lists it, schedules it and allocates it to the right person. This activity then shows to the respective person.

Prasora is configured for each company individually. Prasora team will help you by building the structure based on your needs.

What is the benefit of using Prasora?

Prasora is for companies who want to complete their activities on time. For this, Prasora acts as a smart assistant who provides necessary information about individual activities, reminds people if anything is delayed and updates the status of each activities based on previous activities automatically.

Prasora provides a daily task list for each user and reminds them through email. In case any activity is delayed, it automatically sends a mail copying to immediate senior.

Prasora also provides status of each activity along with its impact on the overall timelines.

Can I get department wise plan?

Yes. You can get department wise list of activities to be done in a day/week or month.

Can I get an activity chart for my customer order?

Yes. You can get a list of all activities for your customer order along with their responsible people, due dates, committed dates and possible dates along with possible delays. All this becomes available as soon as a new customer order is created and is updated on a live basis.

How it is different from traditional template based calendar systems?

Traditional template based systems are not dynamic.

  1. One needs to create multiple templates to match various situations (multiple teams, multiple lead times etc.).
  2. The templates do not generate additional activities if same activity has to be done for different sub components. (E.g. track status of each part individually)
  3. One needs to manually change the dates of various activities.
  4. If any activity is not required, one needs to manually delete those activities.
  5. If a different team has to work on it, one needs to manually reassign all people

I do this with Spreadsheet Software (Like Microsoft Excel). Why should I use Prasora?

We completely agree that Spreadsheet Software are probably most flexible and versatile tools to manage anything and everything.

However, these systems have some drawbacks too.

  1. These are as efficient as the person who uses them. Regularly updating details on a spreadsheet takes a discipline and dedication.
  2. All details have to be manual entries.
  3. Since a lot of entries are required, typically people follow only the major activities.
  4. There will be a number of files/sheets and multiple version of files.
  5. There can’t be a collaboration between various people. One person needs to track and manage all activities.
  6. Editing of previous data can be done very easily.
  7. Reports can’t be generated from collected data.

Is it an ERP?

Prasora is a combination of Management Information System, Process Management System, and Decision Support Systems. It is completely dynamic and hence it doesn’t look anything like any existing software.

Traditional ERPs are great for standard businesses or processes as they have been configured specifically for those purposes. However if your business is not like typical businesses, either the ERP needs to be customized or you need to change the way you work. Each of them has huge financial impact.

Prasora, however, is a dynamic system. Based on your individual business structure (Information structure, Process structure & Organization Structure), Prasora generates the front end for individual business. Thus, the customization process is much simpler and streamlined.

I need a variety of reports for my business. Does Prasora have any reporting capabilities?

Prasora can be scaled to any level because of its dynamic nature. As long as any information is captured at some stage in Prasora, any report can be generated.

Do I need to do a lot of data input?

Any kind of information that is relevant to reports or worksteps needs to be provided. However, the data input can be divided into multiple steps as and when they become available.

Can it integrate with my XYZ ERP system?

Depends. If XYZ allows export of data in soft format (xml, csv, API or an SQL Query etc.), Prasora can import the data relevant for it automatically or through manual upload. Import of data from Prasora into XYZ depends on the XYZ’s capability.
